Welcome to the weirdest episode of The Uncommon Geek Podcast ever! Now with 100% more goat per volume!

On this episode, my friend Bryan and I play Goat Simulator two player!

In the most recent patch, Goat Simulator got a few additions, and one of those was two player LAN! Needless to say, when Mrs. Uncommon Geek and I were invited over for dinner, I took the opportunity to do a follow up to my Goat Simulator review!

Just to warn you though, their were quite a few parts without talking because we both were distracted by the game!

It’s not the Thrustmaster, but this is one frakked up controller!

And, check out the game footage! This is unedited audio, but, the video messed up during recording, so I had to edit it short…

Well, it’s Christmas!

For some, it’s all about family. For others, it’s the “reason for the season” (trying to keep it neutral here).

For Whovians, it’s about the Doctor Who Christmas Special, and this year, we get a new Doctor!

But, for Mrs. Uncommon Geek and I, it’s all about the geek Christmas specials! (more…)

Say the date is July 13, 1984. What would you do if one minute you are just minding your own business in a trailer court playing an arcade game, working hard to beat the preset high score (which you eventually do and it becomes the talk of the community), and the next moment, you find yourself in a life or death situation where your actions could determine the fate of all free-thinking life?

This one time, I found myself in the middle of a situation, that at times, I felt as though I was in WAY over my head. It all began when I came across an elderly woman in the woods. She was extremely exhausted and had a worried look in her eye. She told me that a young woman that she was responsible for was kidnapped and asked if I could help. Little did I know that this would become the best adventure of my life… (more…)

Within the past 5 years or so, I have started going to conventions somewhat regularly. The what restarted the habit was Marcon (Multiple Alternative Reality convention), but that is a different post for a different time. If you’re reading this, you want to hear about the gaming convention GenCon!

First, let me tell you that I went there to help out a vendor, Sylvan Creations and I highly recommend checking them out! But, I was able to get out and about a few times to see as much as I could.

And holy frak their was a lot to see! (more…)

For a while now, I have been wanting to write a blog about how much I love Star Trek. As with anything, starting is the hardest part.

While trying to make a Star Trek based RPG (more on that later), I wrote a review about my 10 hour long visit to the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. Rememebring that, I thought that reposting the review would be a good ice breaker. The review has a special meaning to me, because I was wanting to visit the Experience ever since the very first anouncement of the original concept art. And in 2008, just one week before they closed down on September 1, 2008, I was able to live my life long dream of stepping foot onto the bridge of the Enterprise.

“And how would you like that replicated?” A review of Star Trek: The Experience (more…)
